Visions and recommendations for knowledge management

This report concludes analysis of reports 1.1.1., 1.1.2, 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 and defines vision of future knowledge management system, which has to be  designed and developed by Future Farm. The main focus of recommendation is on a) integration among different levels of farm management systems and b) on the supported tasks that will be required (according to the previously analyzed external drivers and their influence on the three levels of farm management and hence farm knowledge management).

Methods and procedures for automatic collection and management of data acquired from on-line sensors

The objective of this document is to analyse the potentials and develop general procedures for online data acquisition or soil sensors. The methods and procedures how to manage data with respect to FMIS (farm management information system) are described. Current data communication standard for tractors and machinery in agriculture is ISO 11783 which is rather well established and has gained market acceptance. However, there is a significant number of non-ISO 11783 compliant sensors in practice. Thus, two concepts were proposed.

Functional requirements of the derived information system

The various functional features required from FMIS are derived based on user-centric information modelling derived. The functional requirements for the services involved in the fertilisation case are presented. In a similar manner, functional requirements are derived for the services participating in the remaining tasks in arable farming (tillage, seeding, spraying, irrigation and harvesting).

Preliminary report on optimized fleet management to reduce energy consumption and costs-Rep.2:"Assessment of Potential Savings"

Deliverable 6.3 is titled “Preliminary report on optimized fleet management to reduce energy consumption and costs “. Its objectives are:
a) to investigate the potential savings in energy consumption and production cost by optimising single and multiple machine (fleet) machine usage at the farm level
b) to investigate the required data, information flow and information management for optimised farm mechanization management comprising single machines or fleets of conventional, or autonomous machines.
The deliverable consists of three reports.

Analyses of key results of FutureFarm on procedures, protocols and impacts with stakeholders on-farm

Within FutureFarm the projects work and objectives as well as several results were presented to stakeholders from different related groups of the agricultural sector. These groups are stakeholders from farms, from official authorities and administration and from software and geo-information companies producing for the agricultural sector. Furthermore the key results were analysed and discussed with scientists from related fields of research.
