Proof-of-concept implementations of client software, including Rules App
FutureFarm WP 4 deals with the task “Knowledge Management in the FMIS of tomorrow”. The set of deliverables splits this task in different subtasks. FutureFarm deliverable D4.1.1 specifies an encoding for agricultural production standards, which serves as a data exchange format for structured, machine readable documents published by some authority or similar consisting sets of rules which farmers may adhere to. Deliverable D4.2 specifies interfaces for a catalogue and rule service in order to discover and distribute these standards. Deliverable 4.4 describes a proof-of-concept implementation of the services specified in Deliverable 4.2. Deliverable 4.5 (this document) describes the proof-of-concept implementations of the proposed systems components on the client side (Rules Manager). This document includes the description of an implementation for .Net clients like a couple of Farm Management Information System (FMIS) clients for the Microsoft Windows Platform on Personal Computers. The Rules Manager serves as a user interface corresponding to the basic functionalities of the implemented services described in FutureFarm Deliverable 4.4. The second approach is done for the proprietary FMIS client AGRO-NET developed and maintained by CLAAS Agrosystems. The sources for both the web client and the .Net client are available for the public to integrate the systems functionalities in other products by reusing the developed prototype libraries.
